PRESS RELEASE

Press Release: For Immediate Release 9 April 2006

Take a Pride in Meigle

Beechgrove Community Garden Project

The sunny weather enabled the team to complete their first raised bed and by way of celebration it was down to Sue Cole, Chairperson of Take a Pride in Meigle to place the first plant.   Work is progressing well, the rear wall is half completed and the first raised bed has been built.

However, the Project Team cannot be complacent as there is still a lot more work to be carried out in time for he Beechgrove Garden Team’s return to Meigle on the 26th April.

Gordon Barton of Strathisla Stonework will be on site on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5pm and Saturday from 9am – 4pm.  If anyone could spare an hour or two Gordon would greatly appreciate the company!  There are jobs for everyone from sorting stone, building flowerbeds, making refreshments and much more.  If you would like to help please either telephone Gordon on 07971 485893 or Sue/Nick Cole on 01828 640763.  Volunteers from outwith Meigle would be more than welcome.

Sue would also like to pass on her thanks to the Kinloch Hotel and Joinery Coffee Shop for keeping the volunteers fed at lunch time and to the members of the public who stopped to show their appreciation to the work of the volunteers – it was very much appreciated.
