Strathmore
& the Glens Community Market
Saturday,
23rd April - Wellmeadow, Blairgowrie
The first Strathmore & the Glens
Community Market of the season is due to be held on Saturday, 23rd April. A host
of stalls offering local produce to tempt your taste buds will be returning to
Blairgowrie, Wellmeadow between 10am – 3pm and any local producers/craftworkers
interested in hiring a stall should contact Sue on 01828 640763.
Sue, Executive Director, Strathmore & the Glens Rural Partnership explained
that it is important to support local producers because it means that fresh,
good quality food is available – with its undoubted health benefits. It
supports the small businesses that make up the local rural economy, it cuts down
on environmental pollution through unnecessary journeys involving food and it
re-establishes positive contacts and communication between farmers, food
producers and the consumer. The market is also an ideal opportunity for local
community groups to raise their profile.
Further details of the work of the Partnership and the markets can be found on www.strathmoreglens.org
