New Season Produce and New Stalls at Strathmore & the Glen’s Community Market on Saturday 25th June

Strathmore & the Glen’s Community Market celebrates the return of a number of regular stallholders to the market in Blairgowrie Wellmeadow on the 25th June.   Customers are attracted to the monthly market by the wide variety of produce on offer. From local lamb and beef, free range eggs, fish, award winning preserves, home baking, seasonal fruit and vegetables and a wide range of bedding plants. The market is also an opportunity to support local craft workers.

With growing concern that we don’t eat enough fresh fruit and vegetables the market will be promoting the British Heart Foundation’s ‘Healthy Heart’ Campaign and will have information leaflets and brochures available on a range of healthy eating issues.

Reducing falls among older people is the aim of a new pilot project launched in Perth & Kinross.  Blairgowrie, Rattray and Alyth have been selected to take part in the project and representatives of the project team will be attending Saturday’s market to collect valuable information on accident ‘hotspots’ in this area.  Falls can have a devastating effect on an older person's quality of life as they can destroy confidence, increase isolation and significantly reduce independence.

Strathmore & the Glen’s Community Market takes place on the 4th Saturday of the month between 10am - 3pm in Blairgowrie Wellmeadow.
