Alyth Better Place to Live Fair 25th October 2003 10:30am till 2:30pm Alyth Town Hall The finishing touches are now being put in place
for Alyth’s Better Place to Live Fair to be held on Saturday, 25th
October in Alyth Town Hall from 10.30am – 2.30 pm. The fair will be a show case for over 30 local
clubs and organisations with entertainment being provided by the Linda Grant
Dancers and the Alyth Youth Theatre. The
Fair is to be opened by Pete Wishart, North Tayside’s Member of Parliament.
As well as information on local initiatives there
will be competitions during the day including the judging of a Children’s Art
Competition. Alyth Museum will also
being open during the day of the fair.. The SCRAF (Save Cash and Reduce Fuel Poverty)
team distributing free energy saving light bulbs and lots of advice on
how to save energy. The Better Place to Live Fair co-incides with the
CSV’s Make a Difference Day which is he UK’s biggest day of volunteering
action. The event is
supported by Barclays Community Investment Programme and over 75,000 people are
expected to take part in more than 4,000 volunteering activities during the day,
giving their time rather than money to make a positive contribution to their
local community. The Alyth Better Place to Live Fair is a joint
project between Alyth Community Council and Strathmore & the Glens Rural
