STRATHMORE & THE GLENS ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Whilst there was a poor turnout at the 4th Annual General Meeting when Chairman John Hart gave his report on the last years activities of the Rural Partnership, a very informative evening was had by those who attended.

Looking back on the year John reported that Strathmore and the Glens had:

bullet

Gone on-line www.strathmoreglens.org - and has become a valuable community resource.

bullet

Collected over 400 entries for the Local Resource Directory which is in the process of being printed and they hope will go some way to advertise the many clubs and organisation available in the area.  Data collected will be invaluable to the whole of Easter Perthshire.

bullet

Produced a newsletter.

bullet

Run a Funding Workshop in Blairgowrie.

bullet

Been actively involved with members of the Blairgowrie Community Learning Plan.

bullet

Held a Better Place to Live Fair.

During the evening there was also a presentation on the website which is going from strength to strength.

The Partnership identified many local issues which were passed on to the relevant parties involved.

There is to be no slow down in the forthcoming year with the Better Place to Live Fair with only 6 weeks to go until the Better Place to Live Fair on 1 June.  This year’s fair is also to incorporate a funding workshop and there are a host of clubs and organisations attending.  Blairgowrie Craftworkers are also to be represented at this year’s fair.   Organisers have again been overwhelmed by the number of clubs/organisation who would like to support the event.

If you would like further information regarding this year’s fair please do not hesitate to contact

Sue Cole on 01828 640763 or visit the website (www.strathmoreglens.org).
