Berries & Cherries Jam Competition 2018

Following the success of our last Jam Competition, we are holding another.  The Competition is open for anyone to enter with a small fee of 2 per jar entered to go to the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Association - Tayside Group.

Categories: 

  1. Berries & Cherries

  2. Raspberry

  3. Own Choice

Classes:

  1. Home Made

  2. Artisan for commercial jam makers who use the traditional open-pan method (e.g. Retailers Hotels, Cafes, B&Bs, etc)

  3. Young Person (under 25)

 Judging:  will be based on appearance, colour, consistency, aroma and flavours

bullet Use 228ml (8oz) or 378ml (1lb) Jar Size
bullet Use clean jars filled to the brim
bullet Label jar with Category, Class, and date made
bullet If using recycled metal tops they must be free of lettering & logos
bullet Put your name & telephone number on the bottom of the jar

Label Competition:  All labels will be judged and winners notified, simple, artistic, eccentric and unique labels all welcome. 

You can either hand your entries together with the appropriate fee to the Visitor Information Centre in the Wellmeadow, (open 10am to 5pm 7 days),

or

Bring it to the next Community Market on 22nd September before 10:30am.

Entries must be received by: 10:30am at Community Market on Saturday 22nd September

In all cases the Judge's decision is final

There will be a certificate for each class winner and an overall winner.  The results will be announced at the Community Market on the 22nd Septmeber at around 1:00pm 7th August.  If you would like your jar of jam returned after sampling, it must be collected on the day from the Community Market.
